6 Time Felon Killed In Shootout By 13 Year Old During ‘Attempted’ Home Invasion

When 31-year-old Lamar Anthwan Brown and 28-year-old Ira Bennett made the attempt to break into a North Charleston home, a 13-year-old boy defended himself and his home with the help of his mother’s hand gun.

According to The Post and Courier, the young boy was home alone when he noticed a vehicle pull up around his home and became suspicious. After noticing a man trying to break in, the boy instantly searched for his mother’s hand gun and began shooting at Lamar Brown.

Upon hearing the gunshots, Bennett and Brown fled the scene. Suffering from the impact of three bullets, Bennett directly took his accomplice to Trident Medical Center to treat his wounds where was later pronounced dead.

Although Bennett fled the scene, he was found and charged with first degree burglary and possession of a weapon during a crime. Both men have an experienced criminal history, where Bennett had previously been convicted with intent to kill along with the possession of a controlled substance. The late criminal had six felony charges under name, including several drug charges, possession of a weapon, and participating in disorderly conduct according to the State Law Enforcement Division.

John Griffin, a neighbour who heard the alarming sounds of firing gunshots, told WCBD news about witnessing the criminals car lingering around the Charleston home. ‘We heard like four or five gunshots coming back from the back and then a car came creeping from the backyard,’ says Griffin, ‘It went slow and then the dude went in the front door and just started shooting his gun, so I ducked down and (my girlfriend) ran in the house.’
